Buffet breakfast selection was minimal and repetitive. For example, bacon was not available many days, and was usually not self-serve when it was available. Some things I like were never offered, like salmon, pineapple, and English muffins. Eggs Benedict with ham was very tasty, but the sauce didn’t pair well with salmon, which was used every other day.

I really liked the atrium design, and the inside/outside aspect of deck 5. Very few people used the deck 5 outside space, but it's a nice place to get air and enjoy some peace and quiet. I had read many complaints about the Lido deck, but I think decks 10 and 11 were an interesting and different design (though ship pools are not a major draw for me). Carnival Horizon passengers tend to be a fun-loving group hailing from all over the world -- but especially the United States. The ship's multiple cabin options and myriad activities appeal to families, and you'll see all kinds of kids onboard especially during the summer and over the holidays.

Scrambled eggs were probably made from powder. Omelets were good and the lines were not too bad. I often had burritos for lunch from Tomodoro, and really enjoyed them. The buffet staff never offers to help get (free) drinks and are slow to bus tables.
Cruises
Tweens and teens have their own hangouts and activity schedules. Circle C is for cruisers ages 12 to 14, with events like dance parties, outdoor movies and group games. The Circle C space had a futuristic vibe with metal walls and a minimalist design.
Those can really add up when you factor them into the deal. Carnival also promotes zero-down and zero-percent financing through Uplift, which can save credit card interest if you are paying for your cruise over time. Carnival makes it super easy to search their site for deals, often with a red alert at the top of the page and by clicking on "Cruise Deals" under the main "Plan" tab in the header.

Lots of USB ports and lighting and great A/C. This line was always long especially at lunch and when passengers returned from port. They have 6 pizza ovens and the day that I went they were only using one.
One bartender took my order, printed the slip (where I’m supposed to add a second tip), then came back a while later saying they don’t stock that gin at that bar, and couldn’t get it. I also seemed to pay different prices in different bars and on different days.. The same drink was $13.50 or $14 at Fizzanti or $15 at Amari (plus tip and sometimes tax).
Dining rooms feature kids menus and some of the specialty restaurants include reduced prices for kids under 12. Carnival Horizon is a bold, beautiful ship jam-packed with activities, dining options, and bars and lounges galore. The cruise ship is sophisticated and modern, though with Carnival's take on those concepts, which includes bold colors, bright spaces and a heavy dose of fun.
But the suites aren’t as large as some offered by other big megaship cruise lines, and most cabins are designed to accommodate more than two guests. Inside, the heartbeat of the ship is the sprawling Grand Central atrium, a massive space that climbs from Deck 6 to Deck 8. With a giant LED screen, stage and plenty of seating, Grand Central offers shows, activities and entertainment at all hours. Nearby bars and eateries make it the kind of spot passengers will stop even if no activities are being offered at the time.
Carnival Jubilee also offers a fun space up top on Deck 18 called the Ultimate Playground. Here, cruisers can try out the ship’s BOLT rollercoaster, scale the vertigo-inducing ropes course, play minigolf or basketball and more. A lot of people played cards at buffet tables, yet there was plenty of room for those who were eating. I like the narrow space away from the serving lines, where it's fairly quiet. More formal options exist as well, including two main dining rooms (both serving the same thing each night). Carnival historically has done a good job of offering accessible favorites as well as more exotic options (think alligator, for example).
When cruise lines started to offer the drink packages, passengers were no longer quiet. The serenity deck also offers salads in the afternoon. I would have liked more of a food choice than salads in this area. It is a pretty area, and if you are looking for quietness by a pool, go in the morning. Some dinners were good to excellent (short rib/filet duet, lobster, prime rib).
Even without a full-on performance, the quality of vocal talent was undeniable. Karaoke was hugely popular during our cruise. There was always a line of people ready to perform, and the Ocean Plaza area where it took place was teeming with crowds cheering them on. Audience members would often get up and dance to the music or sing along. The ship's age is starting to show, with a few nicks and marks here and there and visible rust spots on the exterior.

It’s a shame, as Carnival has always been one of my favorites in terms of service, as crewmembers often let loose a little more and let their personalities shine through. The line is also popular for family reunions, and bachelor and bachelorette parties. Until then, Carnival Celebration will continue to struggle to provide the kind of personable, upbeat and cheery service present on the rest of the line’s fleet.
With 22 dining options – plus room service – Carnival Jubilee has food for any appetite. The food on Carnival Jubilee is very good, with a couple of misses but mostly hits. Even better, most of the food options are included in the price of your fare. Those that aren’t have a reasonable fee, rather than the exorbitant fees we’ve seen pop up lately on some cruise ships.
In place of a traditional shorter coffee table, there was a taller wooden table that could double as a makeshift working desk. The wear and tear was also noticeable inside the room, including a few wall dings and a couple of nicks in the wood furnishings. Also, one of the hangers seemed to have been repaired with duct tape.
